This song is an Anthem for the New South Wales, the Central Coast, where I have had these phenomenal and spiritual experiences - before ever knowing of the cultural and spiritual significance of the spaces I experienced them in. I sit very quietly at the feet of patient Aboriginal Elders who are slowly opening my eyes to the stories of ancient time and knowledge. This Afrikan StarViking is learning that tribal and mob connection grows and goes beyond time and space.
(Yengo, heaven met the earth and -
Now we know, Ebb and Flow - we go...)
Underneath the sunny skies,
Salt winds held me close,
Sung me lullabies…
Along the coastal shore,
I found my place,
I found my way.
Chorus: Oh the slopes of Kariong!
Billowed clouds that come to bring us
Knowing in our hearts that we belong,
Oh the hills of Kincumber
Reminding us how close we get
Never take for granted - what we’re given.
As sunset splits the sky,
Sounds of life upon the - Rumbulara riseth
Night birds calling out,
As star shine bright,
Fills my night.
Chorus: Oh the slopes of Kariong!...
Emu in the sky,
Fill the night with stars and wonder
Ebb and Flow together.
Heaven met the earth and -
Now we know,
Ebb and Flow - we go...
Chant: Baiame, Sky Father…
Gyian, Tell them…
Look Up today…
To Mirrabooka way…
Bridge: At Gosford waters, seeing the shells of oysters
Pointing out beyond the pale water tops.
Rocks are shining bright, Pelicans rising high,
Knowing whatever comes, we are all as one…
